[Video del giorno] I giochi sono arte o aiutano a vivere meglio?


Clive Barker’s Jericho è stato un giocone molto atteso ed ora è uscito. Premetto che non l'ho giocato, ma mi baso sulle recensioni lette (su ars ludica, ottima come sempre) e viste in giro per la rete. Sopra trovate quella di Gametrailer. Ha fatto molto parlare visto il nome del personaggio (hellraiser e undying come games). A parte il fatto che già a me non va tanto a genio quando si usa il nome del creatore nel titolo del gioco, cosa che serve solo per fare da volano alle vendite e richiamare qualche poveretto che si fa guidare solo dal titolo, ma questa è un'altra storia.
I presupposti per questo gioco facevano tutti sperare bene dopo le famose dichiarazioni del Barker (ma tradotto sarebbe l'abbaiatore poi?...) che vi riporto qui, oppure potete leggere su level up:

I think it stems from a very old idea of high art and low art that we've had in this country and actually originates, I think, in England. Very snobby idea about the fact that it's as much as anything about the people who produce the art as there is about the art form itself. The assumption is that the people who write comics are really people who simply can't write novels... Those high arts feel a little threatened when this other stuff comes along. I believe eventually there'll be a War and Peace of gaming. It'll happen.

Nella recensione però il redattore dice una cosa molto interessante e da tenere presente:
jericho may be art, but not all art is good
